Chapter 3 part 1: The Passage of Friendship → Truth… or Dare?
The turtles (except Donnie) and Yuichi go to April
After Leo told his brothers what exactly had happened, they hung around their lair for a little bit. Once the time came, everyone… except Donnie, met up with Yuichi at the disclosed location in the hidden city.
“CLOSED??!!!!” Leo yelled angrily, his face being red just like his stripes.
“It’s probably from that bank heist that happened earlier…” Raph said, his demeanor being a bit down. He really wanted to drink this evening, seeing he did not like the ‘anniversary’ from the crisis 2 years ago.
“Mannn, I also wanted some beer,” Yuichi sighed. “I am an adult, adults need alcohol.“
“That’s the spirit!” Leo said, bouncing up and down. He was very happy to get to know this new person better. “I really like this rabbit-man.”
“Almost as if you like him more than us, Donnie might get mad!” Mikey said, calmly winking at Leo.
“Wait wait wait,” Leo almost screamed, immediately having his phone in his hand.
“HEYY APRILLLLL!” Leo said in his most flamboyant voice. Yuichi was giggling as a result, while the others just rolled their eyes. Even though he found it funny, he wasn’t sure what was about to happen. However, he felt that the people he was with now were all really nice and that it was all okay.
“OMG HEYYY,” A female voice yelled back from the other side. She sounded very excited, probably knowing what was about to come.
“We totally need a last-minute-party April, can we come? We need to celebrate with someone new.” Yuichi, feeling a bit embarrassed, looked away ever so slightly, but he really liked that Leo was so excited to do something for him.
“Yess of course!!! I still have enough alcohol.” The turtles knew she winked from the other side of the connection.
Leo immediately made a portal, and Yuichi gasped, his eyes widening.
“YOU CAN MAKE PORTALS TO PLACES?!”
“Hahahah if only you knew what more I can do with my blades,” Leo winked at the rabbit, who was staring at the portal in awe.

“If only you knew what more I can do with my blades,” Mikey repeated, trying to sound extremely flirty. Leo rolled his eyes, Mikey winking at him as a result.
“That is amazing Leona- Leo, you have an amazing power.” As Yuichi said this, Leo smiled. After 2 years, he couldn’t help feeling so excited again. It was not that he was never excited, it was just that a lot happened 2 years ago, and he was still processing it a bit.
Yuichi, on the same day they met, had corrected himself to use Leonardo’s nickname. It made Leo feel like the most special person in the world, to be respected by such a strong warrior.
Then, through the portal, they arrived in the living room of April’s apartment. The air smelled like alcohol, suggesting that April was already tipsy and probably had some friends over.
“HEY GUYSSS, OMG WHO IS THIS??” She yelled as she immediately hugged the newcomer. Yuichi’s cheeks were red, as he was not used to such affection coming from a complete stranger. It was embarrassing to be so warmly welcomed, but he didn’t protest.
“This is Leo’s SAVIORRRRRR,” Raph said, trying to have a muscular manly voice, signalling that he thought nicely of Yuichi.
Mikey, with a smile on his face, added to the conversation: “Raph, you know what Yuichi said, right?”
As April was putting a lot of booze on the living room table, she started having a puzzled look. When she realized who wasn’t with them, she was becoming slightly frustrated.
“WHERE… IS… DONNIE?”
“In the dojo again…” Mikey said, looking down at the floor, closing his eyes and sighing. April and The turtles really wanted to be with their brother, even though he could be a bit of a jerk sometimes. Yuichi wasn’t so sure about Donnie yet.
During a moment of silence, Yuichi looked out of the window, realizing April lived only a few blocks away from his own apartment. Instead of living in the hidden city below New York, he lived in the human city itself.
“He really needs to cut himself some slack, he is strong enough as he is!” April said, surprisingly less loud than she was yelling before.
Yuichi really liked April. Even though she was loud, her energy really boosted the rabbits morale, wishing they would become closer in the future. She showed she cared for her friend, even though that specific person was mean to him.
“Alright boyss, enough about our nerd, let’s just start drinkinnn!” Raph announced, standing with one foot on the table, his strength almost breaking it in half.
The group had an amazing time together. They drank a lot, laughed a lot, going far into the night. Leo’s phone went off a few times, being called by their father Splinter, who was probably still a bit worried about them. Still, they were adults now, they could do whatever they wanted.
However, things became interesting once they started playing truth or dare. After some time, the questions and dares became really, really interesting…
“YOU FRENCH KISSED A YOKAI BUG?!” April almost screamed at Raph. She was laughing her ass off, clapping her hands in the process. She definitely drank a little too much.
“It was a dare at the hidden city party. Besides, we were 16 and didn’t know how things worked around there, seeing as we just found out that an entire civilization existed under New York,” Raph said smiling. He secretly tried to uphold his demeanor to not show he was a bit embarrassed.
“What a long explanation Raph, you liked it didn’t you?” Leo winked at his brother, a huge grin forming on the slider’s face.
Raph just looked Leo dead in the eye. After a short time, Raph called Mikey to the toilet for a second, and then April too.
Now Leo and the rabbit were alone. Yuichi was pretty drunk, being the type to still be calm. Nonetheless, he enjoyed himself immensely.
“So Yuichi, a truth, did you mean your compliment about me winning that fight?” Leo laughed, hoping Yuichi would give him the same validation when drunk.
“Heyy I get too choosee! But yeah, though seeing you panic there wasn’t fun. Be more confident… KAPPA.” Leo knows that drunk people are more truthful, but he didn’t expect an honest answer like this from Yuichi. Still… What is a ‘kappa’?
As Leo was about to ask, the 3 others came back giggling, looking at the 2 friends. Raph was smiling WIDELY, almost like someone from a horror movie.
Yuichi’s turn was next, he dared Mikey to use his mystic chains to tie April to her couch. It was pretty basic, but it was fun nonetheless. April was just laughing insanely hard at everything due to the alcohol in her system.
After Yuichi’s dare, they all gazed at Leo, grinnicking loudly. Following a moment of suspension, the dare was said…
“I dare Yuichi to take his upper-body clothing off for 5 rounds.”
Not protesting, Yuichi did what was told, and for good reason…
He was… good looking to say the least. The rabbit definitely trained a lot. Leo’s mouth went wide open, then he looked at Mikey, Raph and the tied up April, who looked at Leo as if he were prey. Their plan hadn’t finished yet…
Leo realised it was mainly Raph’s idea, and was going to counter, asking to have a turn instead. Yuichi allowed it, also sensing that something was going on, but he said that Leo needed to choose dare his next turn.
The other turtle chose truth to try and minimize the damage.
“So Raph, are you proud of me as leader and why?”
This one stung a little bit, but Raph had to answer honestly. As he sighed and closed his eyes, he started to talk. “To be honest, you ain’t bad, you keep us positive, but can act seriously when needed.”
Leo got Raph to validate him as the leader, as he knew it was hard for him to say those words.
Then, the bomb was dropped. After the serious moment, their gazes told Leo that their plan had worked…
“I dare you to sit on Yuichi’s lap for 3 rounds.”
No way they just did that. Leo just looked at Yuichi, a bit shocked. He asked with his demeanor if Yuichi was okay with it.
Yuichi, who was slightly caught off-guard, picked himself up and grinned. He leaned backwards, showing his sixpack, and patted his leg…

“Well, according to him, I did save you Leo, I do want something in return,” Yuichi winked.
April spat out her drink and immediately started laughing so hard, tears flooded her entire face. Mikey’s mouth was wide open, not expecting the rabbit’s reaction at all.
“Alright, if they are gonna start to tongue, I’m out,” Raph said while rolling his eyes. He wanted to put Leo on the spot, but instead, Yuichi said exactly the right thing to make the situation less bad for his brother.
Leo sat down nervously, almost shivering. He avoided eye contact at first, unsure how to even hold himself. His legs didn’t quite know where to go, and his hands hovered awkwardly in the air before finally resting on his own knees.
Yuichi, calm despite the alcohol, leaned slightly forward, just enough so Leo could hear him say clearly.
“I got you kappa, they were really out for you. Besides, it’s not that uncomfortable.”
“they always are…” Leo said, trying to sound somewhat charismatic even though he was still very drunk. “Gotta challenge the leader of the pack somehow right?”
Yuichi giggled, and started to doze off on the couch he was on. He had too much to drink. Mikey and Raph also started to fall asleep, after all, it was already awfully late.
Now, the group consisted of April, Yuichi and Leo who were all still awake after being knocked out from the booze before. They were laying in different places on the couch. April, who got finally loose from Mikey’s chains, managed to blurt something out.
“Yuuuuiiichii, give me your phone number. You, me, and Leo could totally be the triple threat New York needs.”
Barely able to keep his eyes open at this point, Yuichi gave his unlocked phone and answered: “Take the number from my phone…I would love that, this was fun!”
The group completely fell asleep. In the end, Donnie picked up his brothers, giving a disapproving frown to the rabbit who still was half nude on the couch. The turtles were scolded by Splinter as well, as their hangover reeked throughout the lair. Yuichi stayed at April’s place, their bond deepening as a result.
Him, Leo, and April indeed became a small group of friends, hanging out whenever they could, sometimes including Mikey and Raph. Yuichi found the turtle’s lair a bit weird at first, but it was a big, well decorated place that truly felt like home.
Two months later, Leo, who was shocked he hadn’t thought of this before, had an amazing idea according to himself.
Let’s see who will win during a sparring tournament!
