Chapter 15: The Final Battle Part 2 → Love Wins
The final battle in the hidden city…

As Morris rushed towards the couple, Mikey tried to restrain him once more. Morris looked back at him, but before he could take Mikey out, the turtle got the following words out:
“ITS WORKING, HIS SOUL IS BURNING, KEE-” But Morris flew closer towards Mikey, and then the turtle got knocked away by a rock coming out of the ground due to Morris channeling kinetic energy on it. Raph slowly woke up, starting to stop the bleeding again from his arm. Unfortunately though, that was all he could muster.
Leo looked at his family with tears in his eyes. Then he looked furiously at the raging man in front of him. Yuichi grabbed Leo’s arm, and with a determined look, he tried to calm Leo down and make him focus on the enemy in front of them.
“Your family is strong. Mikey is just unconscious… This is it Leo.”
Again, Morris rushed towards the couple insanely fast, both his arms engulfed in muscle and spikes. In a quick moment, only thinking about saving his loved ones, Leo made a portal behind him.
The three people got through the portal, appearing in the New York City sky, where the first battle against the man took place.

Immediately, Morris started propelling himself towards the two lovers with massive flames coming from his legs, both arms still enhanced by his power.
Yuichi immediately reacted with flames of his own, condensing it and firing it at Morris, creating an explosion.
As Leo and Yuichi fell down, the turtle threw a sword to the rabbit, teleporting towards his boyfriend. Meanwhile, Morris got knocked back into a building.
The military and the people were watching from their evacuation chambers, basements and other places, and everyone realised in fear…
The whole city could be destroyed.
The final battle in New York: Casey and April
“MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS EVACUATED, FORM A LARGER PERIMETER AND SNIPERS GET READY, YOU COULD MAKE OR BREAK THE FUTURE OF THIS COUNTRY,” Casey yelled at his troops, who took action right away. The soldiers immediately started making sure the area where citizens couldn’t go got larger. As for the snipers, they started getting onto the buildings where the fight wasn’t happening.
Meanwhile, the trembling April was crying, as she realised the others she cared about must have been hurt. The woman immediately took action by calling the Hidden City Ambulance, as she had gotten the number from Splinter once when he was concerned about his boys.
Furthermore, as onlookers looked at the screen, watching the fight unfold, nothing was said… not a single word.
All were trembling in silence. The only thing they could do was hope…
The final battle in New York: Yuichi, Leo and Morris
As Morris got blasted into the middle floor of a building by Yuichi, Leo immediately repositioned himself and his lover with Leo’s teleportation on top of a skyscraper away from the raging man. Morris immediately appeared again, propelling himself with multiple powers. Flames, air, energy, he didn’t even know what he was doing himself. No… Morris wasn’t even thinking anymore, acting on pure instinct instead. This was the power of the mystic power Yuichi and Leo had enchanted with their love for one another. It was going to eat his soul apart, but the fact that their relationship had developed so fast, and that Morris had been alive for more than a 100 years, would prevent him from being destroyed instantly. But… The fact that his soul was being destroyed meant he would never see his mother and father again.
Morris had lost… but was he going to take his enemies down with him?
The raging man flew around a building, using kinetic energy, muscles, and steel pipes from his hands to grab the roof and throw it horizontally at the 2 lovers. It had no effect however, as they just ran over it. Leo did realize that this was a war of attrition now.
“WE CAN’T FIGHT HIM YUICHI, LET’S RUN AND WAIT FOR AN OPENING.”
Immediately, when Yuichi was about to respond, the raging Morris started to create lightning from his hands, consuming multiple streets, many buildings being hit in the process. Leo managed to teleport Yuichi and himself to the sky.
“HE IS GONNA DESTROY THE ENTIRE CITY IF WE STAY DOWN, LETS END IT HERE,” Yuichi answered Leo’s earlier remark.
The fight turned into a version of a deadly game of tag. Yuichi and Leo held each other, staying in the sky with the portals from the turtle, and Yuichi propelled them both together using the flame from his katana while holding his sword forward. He didn’t need to aim a certain way, as long as the couple went up. They also had to hold each other and be in perfect sync to make sure this plan worked… if you can really call it a plan since they came up with it on the spot.
Morris created many steel spears to attack this time, shooting them as the lovers flew away using their tactic. They went insanely high, the onlookers on their screens couldn’t see what was happening anymore.
Once Morris tried to attack again, throwing massive rocks this time, Leo managed to portal them back at the raging man. He tried to dodge them, but he got hit and got thrown into a roof. Immediately, Yuichi took advantage of it and Leo teleported them both a bit closer, not too close, but close enough so Yuichi could condense his flame again and fire an explosive blast. Morris was screaming, groaning from all the pain he was experiencing as he got thrown through buildings from the condensed fire.
Onlookers held their hands over their mouths. They knew from the last battle, the criminal would survive this. Yuichi and Leo thought it was done then and there, but…
Morris, after being on his back for a few seconds, started standing on both his hands and feet, violently gritting his teeth and looking at the couple. The entire fight was full of screaming from the raging Morris. There was no reason to talk, only to keep defeating the enemy.
There was massive black lightning everywhere. It consumed the entire area, and it was hard to see through the closer you got to its source. Morris, who was still acting like a furious animal, flew towards the two again, with Leo and Yuichi teleporting themselves back into the sky above. Morris created a massive boulder, which he threw using all kinds of creations and energy. Leo portaled it back to Morris, who created a massive spike, causing the rock to break apart. Then he proceeded to blast all the smaller rocks towards the two lovers, who this time teleported themselves onto another rooftop as a reaction.
“He is breaking apart… look,” Yuichi said, sweating and huffing. He was going above and beyond firing his flame to destroy all of Morris’s attacks. It was only a matter of time before…
“LOOK OUT,” Leo screamed towards Yuichi, as the angry Morris got to their location so fast that he almost seemed like a jet. The rabbit responded again by condensing his flames and making them explode. However… Morris used a wind attack to blow the flames out and keep going. Then, the snipers shot him, causing him to fall again and land onto a roof, saving the two lovers.

But he stood up. His will was insanely strong, it being empowered by an intense need for vengeance. Finally… He wasn’t healing himself anymore, and small green flames started to show on his body. The mystic power was taking a toll on him.
“He isn’t healing himself anymore!” Leo almost yelled. He and Yuichi just started to look at one another… this was it.
Morris propelled himself again to the couple, massive amounts of creations forming all around his body. Buildings were being destroyed by all the energy from Morris’s newly massive created attack and as Leo was about to teleport…
Morris created a massive metal arm… Screaming at Leo, sounding and also looking like a complete monster.

Leo immediately felt disoriented, and couldn’t do anything. He didn’t see Morris, he saw the Kraang from two years ago. Yuichi saw the arm and gasped, knowing what was gonna happen.
“LEO MOVE, PLEASE, WE HAVE TO GO.”
Yuichi readied his blade, to just like Donnie, create an attack so massive it would completely destroy the enemy. He was gonna do it at the cost of himself.
“LEO PLEASE, I LOVE YOU LOOK AT ME.”
Yuichi could only hope.
As Leo almost got caught by the metal arm… Morris screamed even harder than he already did, but his body started to give in.
Everything happened so fast. One moment, the man was still furiously chasing the two, and then…
After falling from the sky, he was lying hopelessly on the ground.
As Yuichi saw he didn’t have to defend Leo from the massive attack, he immediately went to him to support his mental wellbeing, but…
“Leo, listen, I am with you…”
“Yuichi…” Leo silently said… starting to cry.
“You have done enough, Leo. Without you, I couldn’t have done it. I will end this fight.” Yuichi quickly kissed Leo on the forehead and went down to Morris, who was still on the ground, trying to get up. Leo just sat there on his knees, not being able to move.
Yuichi stopped the damage from falling from such a big height by propelling himself, holding his sword to the floor with him releasing his flames, making himself hit the ground with way less of an impact.
Yuichi was now in front of Morris, and as they made eye contact… Morris created a few metal tendrils that were easily destroyed. And then… some flames came from his mouth, easily countered by Yuichi’s own.

Yuichi and Morris were both huffing. The fatigue was getting to them both. But with one last effort, the man got ready and made a blade of his own, resembling the same claymore he tried to kill Donnie with. All of his black lighting was disappearing in the process, the man’s body being in even more green flames. Then… they clashed. There were no mystic powers anymore, it was just a sword fight to the death.
The people watching from their screens were sweating while they were praying, hoping… evil didn’t have to win.
As Yuichi was sweating and Morris was groaning…Yuichi was not going to beat that man with a clash based on physical strength. So… The rabbit rolled around the man, almost stabbing Morris, but Yuichi got kicked in the stomach, being flown back in the process.
Yuichi was coughing up blood, but as Morris ran towards the samurai, Yuichi was able to clash again in time. The rabbit gasped, shocked that Morris actually knew how to fight with a blade like that.
Then… Yuichi used his signature tactic against the raging Morris, using his body to disorient the man, punching, kicking and headbutting his opponent, with the rabbit’s nose starting to bleed. Morris started becoming weaker and weaker, his slashes losing strength, and himself losing balance in the process.
Yuichi saw it. Morris, while at first having great technique despite the circumstances, started swinging with rage, not rhythm. One opening was all he needed.
Yuichi ducked under Morris’s wide slash, the claymore hissing past his ears. He spun on one foot, planting a kick into Morris’s ribs before stepping back. Morris tripped, his stance even sloppier now.
The samurai took this chance and then finally, after a long and fateful battle…
Yuichi was able to thrust the katana inside Morris once more… the green glow starting to not only appear from his blade, but also entering the man completely.
Dropping the blade, Morris couldn’t go on anymore. He tried to scream again, breathe fire, create something to attack Yuichi in front of him, but he couldn’t…
A cry came from his chest. He gasped, but the air didn’t fill his lungs, as he just hissed out tiny little sounds, like he was sick. They weren’t screams or cries, it sounded something far more devastating.
He had lost. Not just his parents. Not just the fight.
He had lost himself. And in hindsight, he did ages ago.
Morris shrieked at his own memories, throat raw from the earlier screaming. His soul was destroyed, having completely forgotten what he was fighting for. He crawled towards Yuichi purely out of instinct, trying to harm him. But… he couldn’t run anymore from the truth, as he had completely lost the battle.
As Morris’s memories flashed before him one last time, he realized…
His life was one full of suffering.

There was total silence… Until he screamed again, louder this time, a raw, animalistic sound that echoed into the street, no, throughout the entire city. The mystic power had done its job. Its fire had almost completely destroyed his soul.
And in its place sat a boy crying on the ground, just like the one inside his memories.
Yuichi wasn’t angry anymore. He just closed his eyes, not being able to see what the entity had done to this man, all because of a grudge and a mistake Yuichi’s ancestors supposedly made.
Once the blade was inside for a while, the man disappeared completely, crumbling in a sense, burning up into the sky.
This 100 year old chase was finally over…
The final battle in New York: The evacuation center + April and Casey
While everything was happening with Leo, Yuichi and Morris, fluorescent lights flickered in an evacuation center outside of New York. Families sat under blankets, watching an old television screen. The sound was low, but no one spoke.
The images were jerky. The smoke was almost thicker than the air. A final scream from Morris echoed across the screen, raw, animalistic, desperate. Then, suddenly, there was only silence. People saw green flames consuming the man and then… his body vanished.
No one said anything. No applause. No cheers. Only breathing.
A little boy snuggled closer to his mother.
“Is… it over?”
She didn’t look at him. Her gaze remained fixed on the screen. She tried to nod, but her head shaked. A young woman, with a child in her arms, whispered:
“Was he a human… in the end?”
An older man, a veteran, sat with his hands over his face, breathing deeply.
“It doesn’t matter… The fight is over… No more….”
April and Casey both looked down with tears in their eyes. It was a release, everything that had happened. It had to be let go.
Casey looked down because he had finished his duty… again. He was tired, needing to rest after everything he and his squad went through. The distrust, all the deaths… It was too much.
April on the other hand, looked down because of the feeling of uselessness that had finally disappeared a bit. Still, she couldn’t help but feel she should have done more… Especially for her chosen family.
Just from the past month… they went through so much… and now. It was finally over.
Now… Everyone had to learn to live again.
