Leo and Yuichi do pull-ups at the park

(This story takes place between chapters 4 and 6 of the main fan-fiction)

Once during a sparring session, Leo and Yuichi came out to each other. Leo had a harder time with it, as he always felt he had to be big and strong to his brothers, like a leader basically. Yuichi, on the other hand, was always very confident in his sexuality. He helped Leo in any way he could, as this was all new to him. Nobody had an idea about the two… except April. She had a sixth sense towards things like this, but even she wasn’t totally sure. 

Nevertheless, after Leo and Yuichi confided in one another during their sparring session, Leo had a plan. He wanted to take Yuichi to the park in New York, showing him the most beautiful places he could think of.

Was it a Date?

They didn’t know for certain, but…

Let’s just say it wasn’t a regular hangout either 😊

“APRILLLL, what are you saying?!”

“Leo, just be careful with that bunny, you know he is too strong for you… KAPPA”

“YOU TOO???”

Leo could hear April laughing through the phone line.

“You know I am just teasing you, Leo. Besides, I… really hope you have a fun time with Yuichi! You two seem quite close these last few weeks.”

Leo, though a bit embarrassed, smiled at his phone… He didn’t know how to respond to that.

“Yeah…”

Once Leo was done calling April, as he, Yuichi, and she had been a triple treat friend group for quite some time now, he was vigorously scanning the area around him… No Yuichi in sight.

Until…

“BOOO”

“YUICHIIIII, YOU TOTALLY STARTLED ME.”

Yuichi laughed really hard. Even though he helped Leo with the way Leo handled his own orientation, he couldn’t help but joke a little bit as well.

Once they looked at each other, however… they both blushed a little. They then reaffirmed themselves and gave each other a deep, warm hug.

“I missed you…” Yuichi said, faintly.

Leo just smiled and proceeded, in his usual charismatic way, to make something funny out of this situation.

“Who doesn’t?”

“pffff KAPPA,” Yuichi responded, all giggly as usual.

“Come onnnn, even April and now you… AGAIN,” Leo said, bewildered. He now knew what a ‘kappa’ was and personally didn’t find it that funny anymore.

Still, seeing Yuichi be so happy… it gives Leo the butterflies. But Leo still had a job to do, to show Yuichi his favorite spots in the park.

“Let’s walk, shall we? I got to show you the lake. IT’S HUMONGOUS”

“Alright! Let’s go!” Yuichi said, excited to see a massive lake. From where he was from, there weren’t many big lakes in the hidden city, so this was new for the rabbit.

As they walked, there wasn’t much talking, actually. Still, they truly enjoyed each other’s company. Being together, especially in this beautiful park, made both of them feel completely at ease.

“Hey, look, a playground!” Yuichi almost screamed excitedly.

“Leo, we gotta see who can do more pull-ups on this thing here, come!”

“You really like working out, huh?” Leo said, hoping there would be enough time to still go to the lake.

Yuichi took his shirt off to do the pull-ups… and just like when they confided in one another, Leo was left speechless. He knew Yuichi was a trained samurai warrior, but good god, he was so attractive. However… Leo wouldn’t let Yuichi win in pull-ups. So, they started their competition.

After 5 pull-ups, People started watching the two go. Most of them were cheering for Yuichi, of course, because he was so well trained, but Leo wouldn’t give up! Not in a long shot!

10 pull-ups later

“Already getting tired? Bunny-boy”

“You’re gonna lose Kappa.”

People were screaming at this point. How could those two hold on so long? They were something else entirely.

20 Pull-ups later,

“Okay, Yuichi, this is getting a bit much.”

Yuichi didn’t even respond. He was slowly trying to pull himself up one more time… until.

He fell on the ground.

Everyone was quiet. Leo then stopped and walked over to Yuichi. With a bright smile, he looked at Yuichi and wished he had said the following words:

“Ninja beats Samurai.”

Everyone cheered. Yuichi was a bit embarrassed to say the least. But he smiled and took Leo’s hand.

Yuichi was a good sport. He took his loss like a champ.

“Not bad kappa, and you didn’t even get distracted this time.”

Leo blushed at Yuichi, and while Yuichi grinned towards Leo, he started laughing.

“Come on, show me that place you wanted me to see. I am having enough of this crowded place.”

“Alright, bunny-boy, if you say so,” Leo said while bowing nonchalantly.

Yuichi giggled as a result and started to walk with Leo. As they were walking, leaving the crowd of people behind, something interesting occurred. Yuichi wanted to ask something… but this time, he was the one who felt insecure!

“Leo…”

Leo immediately noticed a change in demeanor and took it very seriously. He smiled at the rabbit and said:

“What is it, Yuichi?”

“Wanna… you know…”

Leo knew where this was going to go. His heart was pounding in his chest. He could feel the adrenaline surging in his body. Still, he wasn’t going to let his body decide his answer. He felt very determined to do the thing they both wanted to do.

With unrivaled certainty… Leo said, “Yes, Yuichi, I would love to.”

Their hands intertwined… and they just walked. Nothing was said in that moment. It was just them enjoying each other’s company again. They were going to walk all the way to the park bench in front of the lake like this.

“This is… nice…” Leo said softly.

“It is,” Yuichi said, looking slightly down at the ground, yet still smiling.

Once they got to the park bench, Yuichi looked in awe at the huge lake in front of him. He was so happy to see that lake.

But his happiness with the lake wasn’t as big as his happiness in being with Leo in the park.

He lay against Leo’s shoulder again and was just looking out into the water.

“I could watch this all day, Leo.”

“I told you it’s the best place in the park!”

After a moment of silence, something happened. Yuichi started to want to say something again. This time, however… he was determined to say what he wanted to say, without the adrenaline and heartbeats of his body telling him what to do.

“Leo, I really enjoy my time with you.”

As Yuichi said this, Leo really wanted to put an arm around Yuichi, but he was just too focused on what was going to come.

“I have never had someone like you in my life before. As you know, I was always with my auntie on the farm, before she…

Once Leo heard that, he instinctively put his arm around Yuichi. He didn’t care anymore that he was so nervous. All he wanted was to be with Yuichi.

Once Leo did that, Yuichi just looked at Leo, and Leo looked back at Yuichi.

Both their gazes were intertwining, as were their emotional needs.

Both knew what was going to happen. And as their faces moved closer to one another…

As they both closed their eyes…

They kissed.

It was a long 5-second kiss.

After the kiss, they both said nothing and just looked out at the beautiful lake in front of them. They were still lying against one another, and would stay like that until another group of people came towards the lake.

They both said their goodbyes… and both in their heart were extremely happy. They still weren’t an official thing yet, but them finding out what they meant to each other. It was something beautiful, something whole.

They wished things could stay like this forever… And as Leo and Yuichi went home after this beautiful outing, they both had one single thought.

“I want to be his.”
