Prologue
The entity
Long ago, there was insufferable poverty in Japan. All seemed hopeless for the vast majority of people, nobody knowing what to do. War, coupled with destruction, almost arose…
But then, an entity that had the power of creation appeared out of nowhere. It looked like a black spider with one eye on its back and a large purple glow emanating from it.
It was the energy that made many civilizations prosper again—a blessing. People built houses, roads, and it gave immeasurable wealth to the people of Japan. It could create anything you wanted. It could heal diseases as well, creating the complex molecules that would directly cure those who were ill. It could even create air, water, fire, and other forms of energy that directly went against the laws of physics.
Yokai… humans… everyone lived together in harmony.
But more people started asking for its blessing, and the ones who were already blessed wanted even more…
More tools, more materials, more medicine. The spider worked as fast as possible, but it couldn’t keep up with demand.
People started stealing from each other, directly causing harm to one another for their own greed. Many innocents got hurt in the process. Wars started, after all…
It was all about who was allowed to control the blessing.
The Usagi family, an influential noble family, was known for their katanas that could drive evil creatures away. Their weapons had a bright, dark-blue flame that could directly hurt them in their core.
They did the thing they thought was best for the world… which was killing the spider.
Order was restored again, and the Usagi family was renowned as the saviors of Japan.
But the spider escaped, being severely wounded in the process, needing time to heal again.
The entity, who only wanted to help those in need, swore revenge on the Usagi family.
It wanted to create one last thing…
Death.
Centuries passed. The Usagi family lived in peace and harmony, helping people all over Japan.
Until 100 years ago, when THAT foreigner appeared.
